Lead Site Reliability Engineer
I guess the best way to describe myself would be to borrow a metaphor from one of my most favourite sports, Cricket, and embody myself in the role of the wicket-keeper. In this role one who has a sharp eye for detail, much improved with good-quality prescription glasses, a safe pair of hands (most of the time), who gets muck-in and wants to be at the centre of the main action, who shows agility and versatility, but above all who is very much a team player (no pun intended!).
I love reading and learning anything and everything, as no corpse of work is out of bounds to feed my unfettered hunger for knowledge and thirst for information to satisfy my inquisitive nature and enthusiastic demeanour; whenever I can get that precious time of course!
I’m fairly avaricious when it comes to consuming ideas and have been on occasion, given the rather unfortunate title of being a sponge more in the sense of absorption then washing, I might like to add!
With an undwindling passion for travelling and learning languages (far be it for me to intimate anything related to computers!) I can safely say I love interacting with people from different parts of the world to learn about their culture, cuisine, and traditions and would very much love to extend my experience in this space in the more advancing years that lie ahead in my life!
If ever there was a word to describe the reason for spending most of the daylight at MoreNiche, it would be paternalistic, and an organisation that places emphasis on well-being and happiness and provides an atmosphere of a close-knit family of very passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals who are always striving to do their best to achieve success for the company.
I love to work in this ambience; challenging? Definitely. Interesting? Very much so. One which creates a lot of positive energy that, in itself, is conducive to job-satisfaction, kudos, and personal development and allows one to react to change in a speedy manner with a certain degree of autonomy, all aimed at ‘making a difference’ to the health of the company.
It also has a great culture of openness and provides an environment in which you can extend your outreach: be recognised for your skill and talent and be appreciated for your hard work and effort, as well as allowing individuals to have a sense of joint ownership and collectively share ideas which are taken on board to be further nurtured and implemented.
It makes you want to get out of bed to do something ‘really worthwhile’ in a very ‘nice place to work!’.
