Agnese Viksna - MoreNiche

I was born in a small town in Latvia. By the age of 13, I already knew I wanted to be in the finance industry.

I had my first job when I was 14 years old as a teacher’s assistant in the town’s nursery looking after 5-year-old kids.

While I was studying for my finance degree after high school, I was hired by a bank straight away after one year in the university. I still remember how proud I was getting that job after just one interview!

My career and life trajectory were to change suddenly in 2013 when I met Sandis, a Latvian who lived in the UK and worked for a company called MoreNiche.

Just 7 months later, I left my family, friends, and job in Latvia behind and moved to the UK to be with Sandis.

In January 2015, I joined the MoreNiche team to work in the busy and challenging world of MoreNiche’s finance.

Besides numbers, I am all about a healthy and active lifestyle. Outside of the office, I enjoy reading books, working out in the gym, and cooking. Aside from that, I love being the first to see the latest movie releases in the cinema (the non-boring ones).

I am always willing to help others, listen, and make sure everyone has everything they need. I assume that’s the reason why I’ve been called the ‘’office mom.’’

Why did you want to work at MoreNiche?

Because who would say no to working with your friends in such an amazing company which is all about growing fast, always looking after you, and having fun.

What are your top 3 (e)sports / wellness activities?

Weights, yoga, and reading

How old do you feel?

I feel and think like I am 22 years young still. Funnily enough though – I am very old fashioned in my principles and views. So my answer I guess is that I feel like I am a 22-year-old pensioner!

What's the craziest thing you have ever done?

I would say moving to the UK in 2013. It was not a very typical Agnese-move, but here I am. No regrets, but I still think Sandis brainwashed me into making that decision.

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?

Teleportation, only teleportation. I would love to be able to just travel somewhere for dinner and come back home after. Or grab our team and treat them to lunch in Paris. Or cocktails on Mauritius. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?
